Privacy policy
Mate in the Loop is a personal publication run by Kenny (Kwang-Yong) Jung. There are no accounts — only an email subscription.
1. What we store when you subscribe
- Your email address
- The language you chose (Korean or English)
- Consent record: when you signed up, when you clicked the confirmation link, and the page you signed up on
- Subscription status (pending confirmation / subscribed / unsubscribed)
We do not ask for your name, company or title. Open and click tracking is not turned on for our emails.
2. Why
To send the weekly insights email you asked for, in the language you chose, and to confirm that you asked for it yourself (double opt-in — nothing is sent until you click the confirmation link). The legal basis is your consent.
3. Processor — Resend
Resend (Resend, Inc.) stores the subscriber list and sends the emails. Your email address and the consent record above are kept as a contact in Resend, and emails are sent from the news.mateintheloop.ai domain. Resend processes this data on our behalf to provide that service. Resend privacy policy
4. Unsubscribing and deletion
Every email has an unsubscribe link at the bottom (managed by Resend); one click and you are out. To have the record itself deleted, ask through the contact form below and we will delete it and reply. A sign-up that was never confirmed stays marked as unsubscribed, receives nothing further, and is deleted on request.
5. Other processing on this site
- Abuse prevention: subscribe and contact requests are counted per IP address for a short window (Upstash Redis, expires after a minute).
- Visit statistics: Vercel Web Analytics (no cookies, aggregated).
- Contact form: the name, email and message you send are forwarded to Kenny by email.
- Your theme preference is stored only in your browser's localStorage.
